About Us Ralph D. Moffat, Founder Over my many years as a musician and entertainer, I have come to realize that young people often experience a shortage of opportunities for pursuing their interest in music. Schools have limited facilities for music participation, especially for students who are interested in contemporary music. Garages and basements can be crude, uncomfortable place to rehearse and develop musical skills, while parents and neighbors often discourage young players because of the noise or the fear that such activities will attract "the wrong element". Some under 21 venues where creativity are invaded by users of illegal drugs and underage drinking, no doubt the worst environment for the budding creative spirit. With all of these obstacles, there remain many young people who hunger for the chance to learn music and gather together to be creative and enjoy the company of their peers. So here is the problem that I saw; young people want to play and practice music, yet they don't have places to follow their desires. The right equipment is costly, and most young people choose to avoid drugs and alcohol, yet many of the places where they might be able to pursue their musical interests are too often associated with drug use. This is why I started the W.P.M.G. I wanted to offer people who have the joy of music in their hearts and souls a place to express themselves without being exposed to the danger of drugs and alcohol. I wanted to provide good equipment that young people could enjoy using to produce their music. And I wanted to be able to help those who lacked the resources acquire the equipment and the skills to produce the best music they could possibly create. |
